With an impressive 40,000 flight hours, Kevin is type-rated in nearly every Boeing aircraft, showcasing his adaptability and deep knowledge of various aircraft systems and operations. In addition to his commercial flying career, Kevin is a Certified Flight Instructor (CFI), Certified Flight Instructor – Instrument (CFII), and Multi-Engine Instructor (MEI), further solidifying his qualifications as an educator and mentor in aviation. Now retired, Kevin’s legacy as a skilled and dependable captain continues to inspire aspiring pilots and aviation enthusiasts alike. Captain Greg Allyn is a highly accomplished and versatile aviator with over 37 years of professional flying experience across some of the most demanding and diverse environments in aviation. With more than 15,000 flight hours, including over 2,000 hours in tailwheel aircraft, Captain Allyn has built a reputation as a skilled, adaptive, and safety focused pilot.
His career spans an extraordinary range of roles, including Alaskan bush pilot, smokejumper pilot, remote low-level para-cargo delivery specialist, polar scientific support aviator, aerobatic competition pilot and instructor, and corporate and night parcel freight pilot. He is currently a Captain and Line Check Airman with a major airline, responsible for ensuring operational excellence and mentoring the next generation of airline professionals.
Captain Allyn holds type ratings in the Lockheed 18 Lodestar, Casa 212, Boeing 737, 757, 767, 777, and Airbus A320 family of aircraft. He has extensive experience across a broad fleet of general aviation aircraft, including the Cessna L-19 through 414 series , Piper PA-18 and Husky A-1, Beechcraft Bonanza and Baron series and Queen Air, North American SNJ-4 and B-25, as well as advanced aerobatic aircraft such as the Pitts S-2C, Extra 300, Steen Firebolt, and Laser.
As a certified flight instructor, he specializes in tailwheel, aerobatic, mountain, and backcountry flight instruction, bringing unmatched depth of knowledge and precision to high-performance and technical flying disciplines. His instructional style emphasizes judgment, resilience, and refined stick and rudder skills, qualities forged through years of flying in extreme and remote conditions.
